The 2015 Te Anau Manapouri Fishing Classic will be held at Labour Weekend. The committee has been busy securing sponsors and going over the programme of the weekend while making some exciting changes.
The decision has been made to alter the start time for entrants to go fishing. Registration opens at the earlier time of 2pm on Friday 23rd October and once registered entrants can head out fishing. Again for 2015 everyone must register before heading out fishing so they have their weigh in card ready to win the major prize of the Stabicraft boat with the Yamaha 4 stroke.
The new online entry system will make the entry process more stream line. Entrants are able to enter as many people as they want on their order then make one online payment. The whole process is quick and easy with the confirmation being sent out straight after entering. Only the order number is needed at registration, so no need to print the confirmation but make sure it is read it as it has inportant information on it.
The Indemnity and Skippers forms are now on the website to print off before entrants come to registration. This will speed up the registration process with the filled in forms being brought in. With the new start time and the forms ready to go it will be quick and easy to get out fishing.
Make sure everyone has their fishing licence before coming to registration. New changes by Fish & Game means fishing licences are now done online. The regisration desk will not have the facilities to get fishing licences so entrants with out them will be sent away to get one from Fiordland Frontier Supplies or Outside Sports then will have to come back to register.
The Take A Kid Fishing will be held again on the 24th October from 10am - 3pm. Work has been done to McGregor's Pond to ensure the safety and accessability of the pond to all the young fisherpeople and their families. A large carpark, bridge, and access path has been made to ensure everyone can get around the pond with ease. Just follow the signs from McGregor's Concrete to the pond and carpark/registrations.
It is shaping up to be a great event in Te Anau, a beautiful place to spend the long weekend!
