The Te Anau Manapouri Fishing Classic is a major fishing competition in Fiordland held annually over Labour Weekend.
2019 Results here. Congratulations to Rebecca Mitchell from Dunedin who has taken the boat home!
The event has many sponsors but we would like to make special mention of Stabicraft, Yamaha and Navico for the major sponsorship of the boat that is the main prize. Click here to see all our sponsors.
This Fiordland fishing competition is run over the two lakes, Te Anau and Manapouri as well as the Upper Waiau river. Teams and individuals compete for the largest fish and spot prizes based on 'mystery' catch factors. There are also some great spot prizes which come up. For full rules see the Fishing Tournament Rules.
Major prizes
Now in the 12th year the Stabicraft Yamaha Te Anau Manapouri Fishing Classic 2019 major prize is again a Stabicraft 1550.
The competition runs from 2pm on the Friday and concludes at 2pm on the Sunday with prize giving at 3pm.
Earlybird entries, (prior to the 1st of October), shall be rewarded with a Double ticket, meaning that if they catch a fish they will receive two entries into the Top 10 Barrel Draw. (Only one fish required.) (Junior and child entries are not eligible for the barrel draw)
Fishing for all!
This really is a fishing competition for the whole family. With both individual and family entries, both adult and child anglers stand an equal chance of catching a fish in either Lakes Te Anau or Manapouri and the upper Waiau River. Entries open on the Friday afternoon and close 2pm on Saturday. You can register at the registration times below and during weigh in.

Most of the western tributaries are Didymo free.
Trips should start at the highest point and work their way downstream.
Cleaning kits are available the DOC Fiordland Visitor’s Centre.
