Stabicraft Yamaha Te Anau Manapouri Fishing Classic

New Direction for 2011 Classic!

On Line Entries are now closed. The weather for the weekend is looking great, so we will see you all in Te Anau for a fantastic weekend of Fishing, fun and entertainment.

The 2011 Stabicraft Yamaha Te Anau-Manapouri Fishing Classic takes an exciting new twist this year with the first prize being an all inclusive 8 night trip to Doc Warners fishing lodge in Juneau, Alaska. The change in direction this year was born of a desire to keep the Fishing Classic exciting and unique along with an awareness that a lot of our entrants already have access to a boat.

The attractions of Alaska are many and varied but the bountiful fishing grounds of Excursion Inlet close to Juneau are home to the King Salmon and the bottom dwelling Helibut, and this is where our lucky winners will be heading for six nights and five days of exploring and fishing.
A number of lucky southerners have cast their lines in search of the Helibut which can grow to a whopping 400lb, among them Stabicraft Managing Director, Paul Adams who has landed one of the mighty beasts.

2011 prize

Stabicraft have a strong business relationship with Doc Warners Lodge and our lucky winners will of course be fishing from a Stabicraft vessel. Yamaha have also continued their strong support of the Fishing Classic and in 2011 have made a substantial financial commitment to the winning prize. All the usual categories and prizes are on offer and we are again indebted to our local and regional sponsors for their continued support.

Two events that were new to the classic last year both return in 2011 with the Stabicraft More FM Fish’n Chicks competition on More FM and the Bushcraft event growing from a demonstration event last year, into a full 2 day South Island Championship Bushcraft Bonanza with competitors from throughout NZ and a couple of World Champions for good measure.
Carters Kidz Gone Fish’n will be based at Ivon Wilson Park this year in an attempt to land a few more fish than has been achieved at the boat harbour and there will be plenty of activities to entertain the younger ones.

Online entries are now open or you can download an entry form and post it to us.Terms and Conditions ( The Rules) and Tournament Info are all available here on the website.
