TE ANAU SANTA PARADE & FUN IN THE PARK Saturday 14th December 2024 Information for participating vehicles/floats (information is also attached to float & market stall booking system)

Parade format:

• All parade vehicles are to travel via Gunn/Sutherland Streets or Matai/Bligh Streets, to enter the closed section of Bligh Street (Facing the Town Centre).
• Floats to assemble on both sides of the road between 1.15 – 1.45pm.
• All Drivers are to be available for briefing from 1.45pm, and must follow the instructions of the Santa’s Little Helpers members at all times. • Please allow space for any Emergency services at the front or rear of the parade.

As we allow for these vehicles to leave in an emergency situation. Usually the Fire Service are at the front and Police at the rear.
• Parade travels out of Bligh Street, turns right towards the lake, travels down Milford Crescent and Town Centre. Turn right into Mokonui Street and ends outside Lions Park.
• All parade roads are closed temporarily while parade is on.

Market 

• Fun in the Park and Market stalls runs from 12 noon until approx. 4pm.
• Set up between 10am and 12 noon. All vehicles must be removed by 12 noon unless staying all afternoon. Please see Santa’s Little Helpers for parking and/or stall position help
•Wet weather you will be refunded your stall cost if you choose not to attend
•Stall must supply everything they need themselves

Parade

• A map showing the Parade route and a health and safety document will be handed out to all entrants once applied and accepted.
• Upon your arrival at the assembly area, a member of the Parade Crew will direct you into position. Parade Rules (Rules and regs - disclaimer floats will have copy of the Health & Safety briefing handed to them before parade)
• All vehicles must comply with the NZ Road Code regulations and must be insured, road worthy and in good operating condition.
• The safety of all persons involved in any activities associated with The Santa Parade is their own responsibility. Children must be under adult supervision at all times. Riders are to remain on the float once the Parade begins, and to remain seated when the float is in motion.
• Parade participants are solely responsible for all persons safety involved with their float, particularly children from the time of parade arrival at the assembly area, throughout the parade duration and at the parade disassembly. Parade marshals have NO responsibility for parade participant safety.
• All vehicles/floats must drive at a steady walking pace (5km p/h) in the parade • All floats must be constructed with safety in mind. Float operators must ensure vehicles and floats are safe and in good operating order. All props should be fastened securely especially where they double as hand-holds. Maximum float width is 4 metres. Maximum float height is 2 metres.
• No water guns, balloons, water bombs or any other item to be thrown into the spectator crowd, however, lollies and items can be handed to the audience along the parade route.
• Please, NO SANTAS ON FLOATS. Santa’s Little Helpers will be providing the one and only Santa 

 • Floats must be booked into the parade. A receipt for registration fee available upon request.
• All participants must listen to and comply with all directions given by the Parade Crew.
• Walking groups can only have a maximum of 25 people.
• No soliciting for funds by entrants.
• A copy of this document must be given to the driver of your float vehicle.

Photography and Filming:

• I understand that by entering the Te Anau Santa parade, I/or a child in my care may be filmed or photographed and this may be used on future promotional materials Santa’s Little Helpers Ink produces. • (It is deemed that by entering the Parade a person gives consent to Santa’s Little Helpers Ink or third parties appointed by them for photographing, filming or taping. Santa’s Little Helpers Ink or third parties appointed by them can broadcast, publish and use any photographs, film, recordings or images without compensation, have a right to use the material and are not liable to the subject for its use in any way.)
